A nobleman is a representative of the upper class. The nobleman had land ownership, production, or merchant ships. He himself did not provide himself with physical labor, others did it for him. The nobleman only enjoyed the fruits of other people’s labor.

The craftsman was engaged in some kind of craft, providing himself and his family on his own. There were a lot of crafts and the work of an artisan was in demand. Only now the payment was different and not always high. Most of the time the artisan worked, in contrast to the nobleman.
