What is the difference between fungal spores and bacterial spores?

Despite the fact that the spore of both fungi and bacteria consists of one cell, there are fundamental differences between them:

– a spore in bacteria is a cell in a state of suspended animation, covered with additional membranes, which allows it to endure unfavorable conditions for a long time.

– fungal spores are used for reproduction. They are formed in sporangia. Due to their lightness, spores can be carried long distances by wind. Once in favorable conditions, the spore germinates, forming a mycelium.
