What is the difference between lypoons and horsetails?

Plaunas and horsetails generally differ from each other in structure. Lycae have creeping stems and dichotomous branching (i.e., many vertical stems branch off from this stem) and they all have leaves. At the same time, horsetails have an upright stem, and its leaves grow in all directions. Horsetail roots descend into the ground vertically from the stem, and at the lycophone they are attached at intervals to the recumbent stem. Also, lyre leaves are arranged in a continuous layer, and the horsetail has a space between them.
