What is the difference between morse code and baudot code?
The distinguishable elementary signals will be called code elements. In Morse code, the elements are: “dot” – a short message of current, “dash” – three times longer message, a pause. Morse code is uneven, its combinations contain a different number of characters. Frequent letters are assigned the shortest combinations; Morse code is based on statistics from the English language. In the Baudot code, the elements are a transmission and no transmission of the same duration and absolute value, but different polarity. The Baudot code is uniform, each letter corresponds to five elementary characters. In total, combinations can be made 2 ^ 5 = 32. To increase the number of characters in Baudot devices, a second register with 32 characters is used.
