What is the difference between predation and parasitism?

Predation is when one organism attacks another organism, kills it and eats it. Predators hunt, they chase, catch, destroy the prey. They have a characteristic hunting behavior. Examples include a wolf and a hare, a peregrine falcon and a mouse, a fox and a ferret, and much more. Parasitism is a completely different concept. The parasite gets along in the body of an animal (host) and lives off its nutrients. A host carrying a parasite in his body can die when time passes, or he can live until natural death occurs. It all depends on the parasite. Examples: leeches, roundworms, bovine tapeworm and others.
