What is the difference between the Athens school and ours?

The School of Athens worked on the principle of free learning. There were no classrooms, and all classes were conducted in the form of a conversation. The teacher talked about a certain topic (for example, about politics or philosophy), and the students expressed their own opinion on this matter. Children were taught not only literacy, literature and mathematics, great attention was paid to physical development and art. The Athenians considered the main task of education to be the all-round development of the personality and the conscientious citizen of the polis.

One of the components of a person's success in our time is receiving modern high-quality education, mastering the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for life in society. A person today needs to study almost all his life, mastering everything new and new, acquiring the necessary professional qualities.
