What is the difference between the biosphere and other shells of the Earth?

The biosphere is called the living shell of the Earth. The fundamental difference from other shells of the Earth is that it is impossible to draw clear boundaries, since life exists almost everywhere – there are living organisms in the atmosphere, and in the hydrosphere, and in the lithosphere. Other shells can be distinguished – atmosphere (air), lithosphere (earth), hydrosphere (water), the biosphere is a conditional concept.
