What is the difference between the modern animal system and the Linnaean system?

Given that scientific knowledge requires naming things, Linnaeus systematically lists, names and classifies most of the living species known at the time, based on his own observations, as well as those of his network of correspondents. The nomenclature, which he then establishes, and the hierarchy of classifications by class, genus, order, species and variety, is imposed as standard in the nineteenth century. This system, called artificial, considers the composition of the flower, the number of stamens and pistils as a classification of traits. According to these criteria, plants were divided into 24 classes, orders, genera and species. Subsequently, Linnaeus’s system was improved.
