What is the difference between the Spartan political system and the Athenian one?

Kings ruled in Sparta, in Athens during the heyday of this city-state, a democratic system was established. At the same time, the social structure of the two states was similar: in Sparta, as in Athens, the popular assembly played a large role, and the fate of Athens was determined by both talented leaders, who came mainly from noble families (such as Pericles), and influential officials – archons. In addition, Hellenic democracy was not a democracy in our sense of the word: women, slaves, foreigners-metecs, that is, the bulk of the population, were not considered citizens.
