What is the difference between theological-theological and scientific-materialistic approaches to the origin of religion?

From a theological point of view, the emergence of a particular religion is associated with the personality of its founder – a teacher, God or prophet, who conveyed to people some kind of revelation, secret knowledge.

From the point of view of materialism, religions are a product of the spiritual activity of people; they historically changed from more primitive to developed. People create a kind of fictional creature, transfer ideal qualities to him and worship him themselves. This is facilitated by the lack of justice in earthly life, fear of fate.
