What is the difference between tissue respiration and pulmonary respiration?

When the body breathes with the help of tissues, oxygen simply enters the cells from the atmosphere by means of diffusion. It penetrates into the cell and is able to be transmitted deeper. Earthworms breathe through their skin, but they also have a circulatory system that helps carry oxygen around the body. Those organisms that have lungs carry out gas exchange directly in the lungs. This requires constant ventilation of the lungs and the presence of a circulatory system. Breathing with the lungs appeared much later in the process of evolution.
