The earth consists of a core, crust, mantle. the core lies at a depth of 2900 km. the temperature in the center of the core reaches 6,000 degrees. the mantle makes up 67% of the earth’s mass and approximately 83% of its volume. the thickness of the earth’s crust ranges from 6-10 km under the oceans and 30-70 on the continents.
