What is the essence of social Darwinism and why is it rejected by modern science?

Social – Darwinism is a theory in sociology, according to which the laws discovered by Charles Darwin for biology are valid for human society. Elements of this theory are used by various groups of libertarians and supporters of militarism. In extreme manifestations, social Darwinism is moving closer to racism and Nazism. Modern science rejects social Darwinism because of its inhumanity and antisociality.
