After the Great Patriotic War, a democratic impulse appeared in the country: people saw other countries, the regime established in them, hoped for changes in their country. Stalin crushed all these aspirations. Nothing has changed in the internal politics. A totalitarian regime was established: repressions were applied to people who did not agree with the government. The military, who surrendered to the Germans during the war, were also repressed. There was a personality cult of Stalin.
