What is the function of conductive tissue?

Conductive tissue is a type of plant tissue. The following types of tissues belong to it: phloem and xylem. The main function of the conductive tissue is to transport substances, while the function of the xylem is to carry solutions of chemicals from the root upward to all other organs of the plant. The phloem function is the opposite, i.e. in carrying solutions from specific plant organs down the stem to the root.
