What is the fundamental difference between sexual and vegetative reproduction?

Sexual reproduction is when both male and female reproductive cells are involved. Moreover, the new organism – the daughter – has a new genotype and a new phenotype. He takes for himself half of the characteristics of the mother and half of the father’s organism. Thus, organisms and species change, take root in a new environment. And vegetative division is simply detachment from the mother – by rhizome, leaves, cuttings. At the same time, the new organism does not differ from the maternal one, it is a complete copy of it, completely identical in genotype and external characteristics. This is how useful varieties of garden plants are obtained.
