What is the importance of water for plants and animals?

There are animals that live in water, for them water is a home. Other animals feed on aquatic life, forage for food. For other animals, it is best to live and be in a humid place, like water, and water is also food with which you can quench your thirst.
There are plants that only live near water, or on water, or under water. Plants “love” water, and don’t mind having a not too moist soil (depending on the type of plant) when it comes to gardening.
