What is the largest scale?

The largest of the scales is 1: 1.

At this scale, 1 square kilometer of the map depicts 1 square kilometer of the real surface.

If we present a map with a scale of 1: 100, then the coverage of the territory that will be depicted on it will be 100 times less than it actually is.

But such maps are often not used, since they can depict an extremely small surface. The exception is special military maps, where the main thing is the accuracy of the location of objects.

The smaller the number, the larger the scale.
