What is the main difference between socialists, on the one hand, and liberals and conservatives, on the other?

In their program, the socialists emphasized the observance of the rights of the working people, sought to create a socialist state, and demanded public ownership of the means of production. They believed that the upper classes live well not because they are better than the poor (smarter, more industrious, etc.), but simply because of the existing system they have more. The same doctors, teachers, workers deserve no less respect and standard of living.

For liberals, the main thing was to give a person maximum freedom. And then let him go on and on as he wants. The fact that a businessman of average ability lives much better than a talented teacher, doctor, scientist was considered quite normal. Everyone chooses their own destiny. And the state should not interfere in this in any way. We advocated reforms in this direction.

Conservatives opposed experiments with society. Their principle is – do not destroy, it is not known whether it will be possible to build something better, but it may well turn out worse to do it. Therefore, they advocated the preservation of the old order and foundations. However, moderate reforms were not ruled out.
