What is the manifestation of the political and economic dependence of Russia on the Golden Horde?

Economic dependence of Russia on the Golden Horde
Of course, the main dependence of Russia on the Golden Horde was the collection of taxes, which was carried out through the Grand Duke, who received the khan’s label to rule the Russian land. However, in addition to this, there were other forms of economic dependence:

· As mentioned above, in order to collect funds, the prince was obliged to receive a label for which he had to go to the Horde, proving there (sometimes unsuccessfully, which became the cause of death) his authority and strength in the face of the Russian people from the khan.

· As a result of the collection of taxes, various robberies and the presence of the Horde on the Russian land, popular uprisings (which, nevertheless, were quickly suppressed) often broke out, causing economic damage to the state.

· Due to the constant influence and total control over the Russian princes, the Golden Horde for a long time managed to play the role of an arbiter on the stage of political events in Russia. It was thanks to the negative attitude of the Horde that the enmity between separate independent principalities could not subside in any way. Thus, the Horde were insured against attempts by the Russian princes to centralize power.

The economic dependence of the Russian state on the Golden Horde during the period of its reign was manifested not only in the fact that the Russian people were obliged to pay the Horde Khan what was given, but also in the fact that the Horde also gathered artisans, warriors, crops and so on for their needs.

At the same time, at this time in the state system, a lot of things have changed. Such changes have affected laws, the organization of power, the political map, and even things like clothing, everyday life, and coins. The Russian land experienced a very powerful influence of the Horde culture, gradually absorbing military customs and the system of state organization of government.

Thus, the most important economic consequences (or, in one way or another, related to them) of the Horde period were:

· The actual decline in the population of Russia;

· The Horde invasion and its consequences were able to throw Russia in its development for many years;

· Mutual borrowing in language, everyday life and housekeeping;

· The establishment of the Yam chase;

· Strengthening of state borders and order.

Regularly replenishing the Horde treasury, Russia weakened, losing the opportunity to restore the former single powerful state with a strong economy and military strength.
