What is the meaning of arachnids?

Ubiquity. Spiders are endemic to all continents except Antarctica. Some species are terrestrial, meaning they live on the ground, while others are arboreal, meaning they live in trees.

Supply chain. Spiders eat a lot of insects, mostly those that are smaller than themselves. The primary niche of spiders is present in almost every ecosystem and controls insect populations.

Breeding by humans. Spiders introduced by humans into natural or artificial ecosystems, integrated or not, also have good and bad consequences.

Non-impact on the state of the ecosystem. Introducing a certain type of spider into an area – or removing it – may have little or no effect on most ecosystems.

Biological control agents. Spiders can be used in biological control.
