What is the name of the excretory organ of the earthworm?

The excretory organs of the earthworm are called metanephridia. They are located metamerically (in each segment of the body of the worm there is one pair of metanephridia). There is a funnel at the end of each metanephridium. It opens into the body cavity of the worm. Excretion products enter it. Behind the funnel is a long convoluted canal, which passes through the septum between the segments and enters the next segment of the body, where it opens outward with a special hole. Through it, excretion products are excreted.
