What is the name of the method for determining the size of small bodies?

The method of measuring the size of small bodies is called the row method. It is used in cases where the scale of the measuring device is greater than the dimensions of the measured bodies. When measured by the row method, identical bodies are arranged in a row and the length of the row is measured. This can be, for example, a row of peas or a row of tightly spaced turns of wire on a pencil.
