What is the nervous system for and why?

No living thing can fully exist without a nervous system. This is because this system is the coordinator of the work of the whole organism. It receives signals from the senses, transmits them to the brain, analyzes information, sends impulses to individual organs and controls their work. Without the nervous system, the actions of different organ systems would not be coordinated. It controls those functions that we don’t even think about: breathing, heartbeat, body temperature and blood pressure in the vessels.
