The peasant war is a mass action of peasants who are dissatisfied with their position. The reason for the dissatisfaction was the impossibility of owning land, exploitation, and oppression from the landowners. War differs from uprising in that it has a wider scale: unrest occurs in many regions of the country. This term applies to a performance under the leadership of Pugachev, in which peasants and Cossacks took part.
