What is the peculiarity of the circulatory system in birds?

1. Birds are animals whose body temperature does not depend on the temperature of the environment. 2. Arterial and venous blood do not mix, since the left and right halves of the heart are separated by a complete septum.

3. The heart is four-chambered, consists of two atria and two ventricles. The right side of the heart contains venous blood, while the left side contains arterial blood.

4. The blood of birds moves in two circles of blood circulation – small and large. The small circle of blood circulation supplies blood to the lungs; large – all other organs.

5. The left aortic arch in birds has disappeared. Only the right aortic arch leaves the left ventricle, supplying the bird’s body with arterial blood.

Metabolism, constant body temperature is maintained by the intensive work of the heart, which contracts very quickly.
