What is the power of the geographic envelope?

The geographic envelope covers the upper layers of the earth’s crust (lithosphere), the entire hydrosphere (the planet’s water sphere – seas, oceans, etc.), as well as the lower layers of the atmosphere (up to an altitude of about 20 km). According to geographers, the thickness (thickness) of the geographic shell is estimated at approximately 30-40 km. Despite the average values, the calculations of scientists are in a wider range – 50-100 km. The thickness of the geographic shell is considered not great, even in comparison with the size of the planet.
