What is the radical nature of the proclaimed course towards the transition to the market?

The transition to the market essentially meant an abrupt change from the socialist system to the capitalist one. Neither the population, nor industry, nor legislation were ready for this. Everything turned out to be illegal or semi-legal enrichment of a very narrow stratum of the population, impoverishment of all the others, violation of the established former economic ties of enterprises with each other. As a result, Russia is increasingly now referred to the group of developing countries, many believe that it does not even reach that.
