What is the reason for the movement of lithospheric plates?

Tectonic plates are huge blocks of the lithosphere that are in continuous motion. Tectonic plates directly affect the topography of our planet. Being in constant motion, they collide and diverge, changing the face of the planet. The reason for their movement is a liquid, fluid mantle beneath tectonic plates. This process takes place thanks to the hot center of the planet, from where the strongly heated mantle rises upward, there it cools down and goes back down to the center. This circulation of the earth’s mantle leads to plate movement.
