The natural decline in the rural population in Russia is associated with a decrease in the birth rate. The reason is the low percentage of young people in the population structure. This situation can be explained by the migration of the younger generation to cities. Accordingly, the proportion of the elderly is increasing and the death rate is increasing relative to the birth rate. In rural areas, young people cannot realize themselves and leave their homes.
