What is the relationship between a plant and its environment?

All plants on earth are dependent on their environment. It is very important that there is enough water, light and heat. But different types of plants react differently to changes in the external environment. So some varieties can only grow in warmth, while others in any conditions. You can see how plants change depending on conditions, rearranging an indoor flower from the south window to the north one, or watering it abundantly or moderately.
