What is the relationship between the roots of the stem and the leaves of a plant?

All plant cells need water, mineral and organic substances for life. Water and minerals are absorbed by the roots from the soil with the help of root hairs. Organic matter forms leaves during photosynthesis. The transport of substances in both directions is carried out by the stem. So, through the layer of bark – the bast, where the sieve tubes are located, organic matter comes from the leaves to all the cells of the plant. And along the vessels of the wood of the stem, solutions of mineral substances move from the root.
