What is the relationship of conifers in the biocenosis?

Let’s remember the terminology first. A biocenosis is a collection of living organisms (animals, fungi, microorganisms and plants) that inhabit a certain territory. Conifers are not found in all biocenoses, but only in some. They are able to compete with each other for the best spot in sunlight, as they shade each other. Also, they are fighting for survival with other types of biocenosis. Coniferous plants are able to enter into symbiosis with bacteria. They live on the roots and help them absorb nitrogen.
