What is the rest mass of a photon?

A photon is a particle that cannot be at rest, but can only move in any medium at the speed of light, therefore it is believed that the photon does not have a rest mass. In other words. the rest mass of the photon is zero. This is what distinguishes the photon from other elementary particles, such as electrons, protons, etc. – which can be at rest, and therefore have a rest mass.
