What is the role of geographic location in shaping the climate of Africa?

The geographical position of any continent, including Africa, directly affects its climate. In the specific case of Africa, the climate is formed due to the fact that most of this continent lies in the three warmest climatic zones of the Earth (equatorial, subequatorial and tropical). Since the equator runs almost along the center of the mainland, each of the above zones is repeated twice on the surface of Africa, from the south and from the north of the equator. All this makes Africa the hottest of the existing continents.
