What is the role of ribosomes in the body?

Ribosomes carry out the biosynthesis of proteins in the cell. They include RNA – ribonucleic acid and proteins. Each cell contains a different amount of protein and the number of ribosomes depends on its level. There may be several million of them. Each particle of the ribosome can perform additional functions. A small particle receives and decodes genetic information, and a large one participates in transliteration.
