What is the role of symbiosis in maintaining balance in nature?

Symbiosis is one of the types of relationships between different types of living organisms. It is just as important as parasitism, predation, herbivorousness, and other relationships. When organisms are in symbiotic relationships, they benefit from it. For example, lichens are a prime example of symbiosis. The bonds are fungi and unicellular algae. Therefore, they do not need soil, they can survive at very low and high temperatures, they survive for a long time without moisture and air. By themselves, mushrooms or algae are not adapted for such a survival.
