The nephron is a structural unit of the kidney. The nephron consists of the collecting ducts, capsule, glomerular structure, and other parts. This allows the kidneys to perform their function – filtering blood and removing toxins from the body. Blood flows through the nephrons every day and primary and secondary urine is formed. Primary urine contains some essential substances for the body. They are not excreted from the body, since they do not enter the secondary urine. It is excreted from the body about 1.5 liters per day.
