What is the structure of the plant bark?

Bark refers to the integumentary tissue of a plant. This is the outer part of the stem, which protects living cells of the stem from sudden temperature fluctuations, evaporation of moisture, penetration of bacteria and other parasites, and mechanical damage from the outside. The inner part of the bark is bast; it carries down the nutrients formed in the leaves during photosynthesis. Cambium, a living educational tissue that is located between wood and bark, is active in summer and spring, which leads to a layered structure. There is also sapwood – the living part of the wood and the core, the dead part of the wood, is located in the center.
