What is the Sun made of?

The sun is the only star in the solar system to which we owe life on Earth. The sun is very hot and consists of a mixture of gases. Most of it is hydrogen – up to 92% of the volume. Helium takes about 7%. To obtain energy, thermonuclear fusion reactions occur on the Sun. At the same time, helium is formed from hydrogen, therefore, over time, their percentage may change. The rest of the Sun is made up of other elements: iron, nickel, oxygen, nitrogen and others.
