What is weathering? How does it affect rocks?

Weathering is the process of corrosion of rocks when they are destroyed by external factors such as wind, flowing water, movement of glaciers, temperature changes, etc. Ice, when moving from the top of the mountains, under its own weight squeezes the rocks, which are crumbling. Temperature changes cause cracks in the structure of rocks, where dust and water seep, after freezing of which the rock begins to grind. The wind with the air also moves sand particles, which rub against solid rocks and decompose them.
