Fish have a closed circulatory system, which consists of one circle of blood circulation. They already have a heart, which is formed by two chambers: the atrium and the ventricle. Both chambers contain venous blood. The ventricle pushes it into the branchial artery. In the capillaries of the gills, gas exchange occurs and the blood, saturated with oxygen, turns into arterial. From the gills, it travels through the arteries to all organs, supplying oxygen to each cell. Thus, arterial blood is supplied to the cells of the fish body.
