What kind of farming system came to replace the bi-field in the medieval village?

The two-field has been replaced by the three-field. In this case, the field was divided into approximately three equal sections. One was given for winter crops, the other for spring crops. The third part was left every three years without use or “under steam”. Often this site was used as a pasture for livestock or a source of hay for the winter. Three-field was a logical step towards using crop rotation (or multi-field). However, the three-field itself was much more progressive than the two-field (slash-and-burn agriculture with fallow), giving a qualitative impetus to agriculture.
