What kind of relationship did the Greeks have with the Scythians?

The Scythians were the closest neighbors of the Greeks in the Black Sea region. They were engaged in agriculture and cattle breeding, while leading a nomadic life. The Greeks were friends with the Scythians and traded with them in grain, furs, cattle and even slaves. In turn, the Scythians adopted Greek customs and manners, and one Scythian king even worshiped the Greek gods. But since the Greeks were a proud people who knew their own worth, any Greek always considered the Scythians to be barbarians and strangers.
