What kind of rock is formed from lava frozen on the earth’s surface?

Seismology calls the lowest layer of the earth’s crust “basaltic”. He is in direct contact with hot magma. And therefore, it is almost always in a molten state. However, after volcanic eruptions, basalt very quickly gives off heat to the environment, cools and hardens. Thus, whole basalt clusters are formed, and volcanoes are almost always at least two-thirds composed of basalt.
