What letter did the Babylonians use?

The inhabitants of Ancient Babylon used cuneiform adapted for the Akkadian language. This type of writing is the oldest on the planet. The Akkadians (as the inhabitants of Babylon are called) adopted the script from their southern and more historically ancient neighbors – the Sumerians. About 15-20 other peoples and civilizations then borrowed this type of writing from the Akkadians themselves. Particularly important messages were recorded on stones, while everyday messages were recorded on raw clay tablets (in order to increase the writing speed).
