What living organisms independently store the energy of the sun?

Green plants are often referred to as intermediaries between heaven and earth. They perform a “cosmic function”, storing the energy of the Sun in the complex organic substances they produce. The formation of these substances occurs in the process of photosynthesis, which requires the presence of sunlight, water, carbon dioxide and chlorophyll – a special green pigment found in different parts of plants. Green plants transfer the stored energy through food chains to other living organisms. Only those representatives of this kingdom that have chlorophyll are capable of photosynthesis. Also, some bacteria (cyanobacteria) and microscopic animals (euglena green) are able to store the energy of the Sun. And their cells must contain green pigment.
