What materials for writing and writing systems were used in the countries of the Ancient World?

Initially, man learned to think, then beliefs appeared. After that, writing appears in the ancient history of mankind. The first writing utensils and writing system differed sharply from those familiar to us. The first signs of writing appeared among the Sumerians and approximately simultaneously with them in Egypt. But they were radically different from each other. Clay tablets served as writing material for the Sumerians, papyrus for the Egyptians. Some fragments of records have survived to this day, but many written signs have not yet been deciphered.
