What methods did the Inquisition use to identify “heretics”?

It should be understood that the views of the church on the world and society have changed significantly over the past 1000 years. Previously, any person who interpreted the Bible differently from the way the authoritative bishops believed could easily fall into heretics. People who were engaged in science fell into this category. Any person who did not like such bishops and synods could get into heretics. An extensive agent system was used to detect and identify heretics. The bishops formed such a network from the inhabitants of their parishes.

The church of that time was a source of obscurantism. Destroyed science and interfered with the development of society. This was done in the selfish interests of the church.
