What opponents did Byzantium have to fight in the 6-9 centuries?

The Byzantine Empire held out on the world stage much longer than the Roman Empire. But Byzantium was also subjected to raids from neighbors and defeats. In the period from the 5th to the 9th century, Byzantium suffered from the military campaigns of the Eastern Slavs. They often raided Constantinople and demanded preferential terms for trade and residence. The Ottoman Empire attacked Byzantium from the south. The Turks sought to subjugate its territory. From the sea, the Scandinavian peoples, called the Normans, were sometimes attacked.
